London Array was launched by three energy firms – E . ON , Ørsted and Masdar – and the global investor , La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec . The park is located 20km from the coast of Kent in the UK , and features 175 turbines . £ 1.8bn ($ 2.3bn ) was spent constructing the project . Each monopile foundation used for the farm is up to 68m long , 5.7m wide and weighs as much as 650 tonnes .
