If fast fashion cannot be sustainable, does that mean sustainability walks hand-inhand with luxury brands?

While Theodore Roosevelt’ s famous words“ nothing worth having comes easy” certainly apply to sustainability, there are many practices that luxury brands are built on that are naturally more sustainable:
• Craftsmanship and conscious sourcing drive durability which extends the life of even the most loved pieces.
• Timeless design and attention to detail avoid trend-driven overconsumption and high-quality.
• Natural materials are often more sustainable both in sourcing and afterlife than processed counterparts.
There is, however, always more work to be done, and luxury brands that are consciously building sustainability into fashion houses are having an impact in luxury and beyond.
LVMH, the world’ s largest luxury goods conglomerate, has made sustainability a central part of its strategy, using its LIFE 360 framework to push progress on climate, biodiversity, circularity and transparency.“ At LVMH, excellence has always gone hand in hand with responsibility, mutually nourishing a virtuous circle,” says Bernard Arnault, Chairman and CEO of LVMH.
