USSEC
Every farmer participating in the U. S. farm programme provides declarations of compliance each year and are all subject to audit – with about 20,000 audits conducted annually. Based on U. S. soybean production, farmer participation in the U. S. farm programme, and the on-farm audit compliance rate – the amount of sustainable U. S. soy is calculated. From that, exporters can provide certificates verifying the soy being purchased meets the SSAP.
In addition, the industry has a set of goals to drive continuous improvement on the farm and throughout the value chain. We’ ve seen improvement over the 2000 baselines, and we’ re continuing to push for lower GHG emissions, reduced land use impact, reduced soil erosion and lower energy use.
Q. HOW DOES SSAP HELP PROCUREMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY TEAMS BUILD A VERIFIED AUDIT TRAIL THAT CAN STAND UP IN ESG DISCLOSURES, INVESTOR CONVERSATIONS AND GREEN- FINANCE DISCUSSIONS?

» SSAP shipment certificates provide verification to international customers that the soy grown in the United States is produced sustainably. Certificates can be issued for any type of U. S. soy exported from the US, allowing for processing into various soy products, including meal, oil, flour and hulls. Transferable certificates extend that same documentation to foreign companies further down the supply chain, giving them records they can use to support ESG goals and report progress to customers, auditors, investors, or lenders.
