Hamburg’ s Climate Plan sets sector targets and a legal framework to reach climate neutrality by 2045. It was Germany’ s first city to introduce diesel-restriction streets to tackle NOx.
The Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub is building a 100 MW electrolysis plant for green hydrogen at a former coalfired power plant. The hub is expected to produce more than 9,000 tonnes of green hydrogen each year.
Siemens Energy has been chosen to provide six units of its latest electrolyser model with commercial operation scheduled to start in 2027.
