As one of the world’ s largest commercial real estate services and investment firms, CBRE is leveraging its scale and influence to reduce carbon emissions in both its own operations and those of its clients.
Through its global sustainability strategy, CBRE focuses on transforming building performance by integrating lowcarbon technologies, improving energy management and promoting sciencebased climate targets. The firm helps clients transition to net zero through energy audits, data-driven insights and decarbonisation roadmaps that prioritise renewable energy and electrification solutions.
Alongside supporting clients, CBRE has committed to net zero by 2040. Key near-term targets include a 50 % reduction in corporate Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 55 % reduction per square foot in emissions from client-managed properties by 2030( using a 2019 baseline), with progress validated by the Science Based Targets initiative( SBTi).
“ As the world’ s largest manager of commercial real estate, we have a special obligation to help the world address the many challenges posed by the warming planet,” said Bob Sulentic, CBRE’ s President and CEO, when the company announced its net zero goal.“ CBRE is deeply committed to doing our part and to working with our clients and across our vast global supply chain to help achieve net zero emissions as quickly as possible. This is an essential element of our commitment to the communities in which we operate.”
