AI IN SUSTAINABILITY

AI is rapidly shaping the future of sustainability across industries. The subject took centre stage at New York Climate Week 2025, where the world’ s most influential companies, communities and policymakers converge to tackle climate challenges and highlight solution-driven partnerships.

At the heart of these discussions is Kyndryl, a global IT infrastructure services provider that split from IBM in 2021. In just over three years, Kyndryl has built a sustainability model recognised by Time Magazine and Forbes, underpinned by corporate citizenship and a web of innovative alliances. Faith Taylor, Senior Vice President of Global Citizenship and Sustainability, and Giovanni Carraro, SVP, Global Strategic Alliances, are leading Kyndryl’ s efforts to advance sustainability with AI.
“ We’ ve made tremendous progress in the last three and a half years,” Faith says, describing a foundation built into the way the company operates. Kyndryl’ s presence across 60 countries and frequent recognition for sustainable impact show the company’ s growing influence.
The importance of partnerships in driving change is central to Kyndryl and Giovanni’ s role. Kyndryl’ s independence has allowed it to collaborate beyond the bounds of its original parent company, forging connections with technology developers, energy suppliers and cloud computing leaders.
