SUSTAINABILITY AS A VALUE-DRIVER
If you had a conversation with a sustainability leader a few years ago, a likely blocker that would have been cited is lack of buy-in from leadership and other functions.
Sustainability teams are often very small and have to act as influencers in companies to have any real impact, so if it is seen as a nice-to-have this can start being a problem. Sustainability has shifted more recently into a value-add, prompting a serious seat at the table.
As this edition’ s The Sustainability Interview subject, VW Group CSO Dirk Voeste outlines:“ Sustainability is an incredibly important business and value driver.”
As we get closer to the second half of the‘ decade of action’, I look forward to seeing that theme continue.
As always, thanks for reading and enjoy the issue.
