TITLE: CHIEF SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER COMPANY: RADISSON HOTEL GROUP
“ There are two parts in my career with a big sailing trip in the middle. Before the trip I was in international business development, and then went sailing for four years and that’ s where it dawned on me that there are really, really alarming situations out here in terms of biodiversity, plastic waste and ocean health.
“ So I came back and was reintegrating back into working life and then I became the Head of Sustainability for Toyota in Europe before joining Radisson Hotel Group.
“ I think the key point is the way sustainability is now much more strategic and linked to a net zero transformation at Radisson. We are committed to become net zero by 2050, with approved science-based targets near term.
“ When I started in sustainability, it was more in the community – now it’ s core of the future and sustainability and durability of the company, of the business model. The link with enterprise risk security may not seem obvious at first instance, but it actually is.
“ It’ s a field where we always have more work to do but we can do very important things.”
