EVENT REVIEW
Speaker spotlight: Building a resilient and sustainable food system Jim Andrew, Chief Sustainability Officer at PepsiCo, opened with a clear warning – the climate crisis is already reshaping lives, land and livelihoods.
He mapped the food system from grow to make and move to enjoy, underscoring PepsiCo’ s scale and dependency. Real transformation, he says, needs three levers: acceleration, intention and alignment.
Through pep +, PepsiCo targets positive agriculture, a circular and inclusive value chain and consumer choices that benefit people and planet.
Tailwinds from 2020 have become 2025 headwinds in policy, investment and reporting, demanding new strategies.
Regenerative agriculture is central, supported by partners such as Unilever, major retailers and Practical Farmers of Iowa, with a goal of 240,000 acres by 2030. Progress relies on cross-sector collaboration and convening others to act.
“Together we can transform the food system – but only by working together”
