Against the high-energy backdrop of Climate Week NYC 2026, Sustainability LIVE: The Leadership Summit brought senior business leaders to the Javits Center for a focused day of debate, connection and practical climate action. Held on 22 September, the one-day gathering returned to the global climate calendar for its third consecutive year, convening more than 500 C-suite and V-level decision-makers at a moment when corporate sustainability strategies are under greater scrutiny than ever.
Climate Week NYC ran from 20 to 27 September and united leaders from business, government, finance, academia and civil society around a collective emphasis on the energy, impact and action needed to accelerate the transition. With the city acting as a meeting point for international climate ambition and commercial reality, Sustainability LIVE offered a dedicated space for executives to translate broad commitments into credible, business-led progress.
More than 50 speakers from organisations including Hertz, Colgate- Palmolive, Henry Schein, Genesys, PepsiCo and Microsoft took to the stage across keynote presentations, panel discussions and executive forums. Conversations moved beyond headline targets to tackle the operational challenges shaping the next phase of sustainable business: supply-chain decarbonisation, grid resilience, regulatory compliance and the ethical integration of AI.
The programme also explored carbon fluency, water positivity, women in sustainability leadership, human rights and forced labour, global decarbonisation strategies and sustainable supply chains. In doing so, Sustainability LIVE reflected a central theme of Climate Week NYC: the need for climate leadership that is not only ambitious, but implementable, accountable and equipped for an increasingly complex economic landscape.
