For example , by 2030 , Microsoft has pledged to be carbon negative , and by 2050 , it will remove all of its historical emissions since the business was founded in 1975 . What ’ s more , by 2030 , Microsoft will replenish more water than it uses and there will be zero waste across its direct waste footprint . Microsoft operates in 190 countries and is made up of more than 220,000 passionate employees worldwide .
