MAN GROUP temperature increases to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
It has set targets aligned to the Science Based Targets initiative( SBTi), a programme which aims to limit rising global temperatures. Specifically, Man Group aims to reduce its carbon footprint across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 and, wherever possible, takes action to capture relevant data to achieve this objective.
Recognising the scope of the sustainability challenge, and that there will always be resilient levels of carbon that are more challenging to eliminate, the business also uses certified carbon offsets. This allows it to meet its own carbon objectives but also to support various sustainability initiatives in order to have a wider impact. This includes social and community projects around reforestation in Ghana.
Man Group currently manages around US $ 62bn in assets where environmental, social and governance( ESG) factors are integrated into investment decision making. The figure represents a significant portion of the firm’ s total assets under management and reflects growing client demand for responsible investment solutions.
