HOW COOL PAINT COULD MAKE NISSAN VEHICLES MORE SUSTAINABLE
Global car giant Nissan is trialling an advanced paint technology that has the potential to make its vehicles more sustainable by reducing cabin temperatures .
Created in collaboration with Radi-Cool , a leader in radiative cooling technology , this new paint integrates metamaterials and synthetic composites with unique properties not typically found in nature .
GOOGLE EXPANDS WILDFIRE TRACKING TO ADAPT TO CLIMATE CHANGE
In 2023 , wildfires generated approximately 2.17 billion tonnes of carbon emissions and burned 384 million hectares of land , so Google is leveraging ML and AI to track wildfire boundaries . Adam Elman , Sustainability Lead at Google , says : “ As wildfires continue to impact communities around the world , Google is expanding AI-enabled wildfire tracking to 15 countries across Europe and Africa .”
AIR NEW ZEALAND SCRAPS 2030 SUSTAINABILITY GOAL & DROPS SBTI
Air New Zealand – a company heralded as one of the most sustainablyfocused airlines – has abandoned its 2030 carbon intensity reduction targets and is withdrawing from the Science Based Targets initiative ( SBTi ). In a statement , the company says these issues “ are outside the airline ’ s direct control and remain challenging ”.
