Kathleen McLaughlin has been a defining force in corporate sustainability since taking the helm as Chief Sustainability Officer at Walmart in 2013. Overseeing one of the world’ s most complex supply chains, she leads initiatives spanning climate action, nature conservation, waste reduction, human rights and inclusive sourcing. Through programmes such as Project Gigaton, she has mobilised thousands of suppliers to collectively reduce emissions at an unprecedented scale, demonstrating that commercial success and environmental stewardship are mutually reinforcing. Her commitment to regenerative agriculture and supplier livelihoods reflects a sophisticated understanding of systems-level change. Before joining Walmart in 2013, she spent more than 20 years with the global consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
