Cassandra leads the sustainability efforts at one of the top five automotive makers in the world. As the industry shifts to electric drivetrains, the sustainability spotlight is on the automotive market. Cassandra’ s career has incorporated some of America’ s largest brands. She joined the Detroit-based firm in April 2025, after similar roles at Dell Technologies, McKesson, 3M and Coca-Cola.

Since moving to GM from Dell, Cassandra has seen upheaval in the US approach to sustainability and DEI, war in Iran, trade and tariff wars and write-downs by many automakers as they consider the scale of production for electric vehicles. When asked to share some secrets of sustainability leadership at a global company, Cassandra came up with three words: agility, grace and grit.“ Yes, in sustainability, we are tree huggers, but why can’ t they be money trees? We can all hug some money trees.”
