Kara has been working in her current role for 12 years, where she leads Amazon’ s sustainability and social responsibility strategy. She oversees the company’ s transition to more sustainable operations, transport, carbon-free energy, sustainable products, packaging and shopping. She has worked to regionalise the company’ s logistics in order to reduce transport emissions, as well as introducing sustainable packaging solutions to minimise waste. Her career of more than 30 years spans policy, government roles, charity work, global strategy and social enterprise work. Prior to working at Amazon, Kara spent 11 years at consulting company BSR, where she was Managing Director and Vice President.
