Alastair leads Mars’ sustainability strategy across its global operations and value chain. He has spent more than two decades at the company, holding roles spanning commercial leadership, sustainable sourcing, cocoa sustainability, global programmes and partnerships. Before taking on his current role in 2025, Alastair served as Chief Sustainability Officer for Mars Wrigley, where he led efforts to embed sustainability across the business and its supply chains. His work has included reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing deforestation-free sourcing, improving farmer livelihoods and developing circular packaging solutions. Earlier in his career, Alastair worked directly with communities and development organisations across cocoa-growing regions in West Africa. He has also worked on conservation, education and community development initiatives, bringing experience across sustainability, sourcing and business transformation.
