ITC Grand Chola stands out as one of the world’ s most sustainably certified hotels, holding LEED Platinum, Zero Carbon, and Zero Water certifications, as well as India’ s first five-star GRIHA rating. The hotel is powered by its own wind and solar capacity, with surplus energy returned to the grid. Nearly all water for irrigation and cooling is treated and reused. Construction prioritises recycled and locally sourced materials and existing trees were transplanted rather than cut during development.
