1 Hotel Hanalei Bay is a luxury resort on Kauai’ s North Shore that focuses on biophilic design, sustainability, and celebrating local culture. By partnering with RE-use Hawaii during refurbishment, the team salvaged nearly 150 tonnes of furniture, fixtures, equipment and other materials. The hotel is working towards becoming a fully Certified Carbon Neutral and TRUE zero-waste retreat. The resort’ s green roofs help reduce and filter stormwater runoff, lower the urban heat island effect, and improve air quality by capturing carbon.
