“THE MAIN , OVERARCHING GOAL IS ALWAYS TO BE BETTER IN THIS SPACE THAN WE WERE YESTERDAY . AND IF WE ARE BETTER TOMORROW THAN WE WERE TODAY , WE CAN KEEP MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION ”

PHIL JORDAN DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY & DELIVERY , SCENIC
“ I think a lot of people expect that they know what sustainability is , but the reality is it ’ s all-encompassing , very complicated and a fluid process as it evolves ,” he says .
“ One of the biggest challenges is that fundamental misunderstanding or misconception of sustainability , but I think that represents an opportunity .
“ It doesn ’ t mean a company is going to be less profitable , in fact , it ’ s the opposite . For guests and all travellers alike , it doesn ’ t mean that it ’ s going to be less enjoyable if it ’ s sustainable .
“ When you start to have the whole travel sector all pulling in the same direction for a common goal and clearer understanding , that ’ s when you start seeing real progress .”
