At Schneider Electric, Life Is On
Schneider Electric is investing heavily in green skills to support a just, fast energy transition worldwide. The company sees youth upskilling and technical training as essential to closing the global energy talent gap and accelerating decarbonisation.
Through its Youth Impact Through Learning initiative and related programmes, Schneider Electric aims to train one million young people in energy management by 2025, working with more than 400 partners across around 60 countries. These programmes focus on future‐ready skills in areas such as energy efficiency, microgrids, digitalisation and low‐carbon technologies, combining technical and vocational education, hands‐on labs and digital learning tools like virtual twins and immersive simulations. A strong emphasis is placed on reaching underprivileged and vulnerable groups, including displaced youth and those not in education, employment or training.
Green skills at Schneider Electric are also closely linked to entrepreneurship and employability. The company supports youth and social entrepreneurs with mentoring and funding to develop community‐level clean energy solutions, and works with universities, TVET centres and engineering schools to align curricula with real‐world energy-sector demand. Gender equality is a core pillar, with targeted initiatives to bring more girls and women into technical and leadership roles in the energy transition.
