A stand-out contract that Avery Dennison looks after is putting the names and numbers on the backs of every Premier League player ’ s shirts .
They are produced at an Avery Dennison facility and sent to the shirt manufacturers for application .
It is not that simple , though – at least not for the company ’ s supply chain team .
They have to work out how many of each name and number to produce , with the demand ebbing and flowing throughout the season .
Debbie says : “ Our supply chain team is watching transfers . These transfers have an impact on the supply chain .
“ We don ’ t want waste . If somebody ’ s not performing well , that has an impact on whether we ’ re selling the name and the number . “ We ’ re even looking at who is in form , who is scoring goals at the weekend – it all affects demand .”
