EVENT REVIEW
the event, Glen White, CEO of BizClik, welcomed attendees to the inaugural North American edition of Sustainability LIVE and Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE in Chicago.
Glen described the two days as an opportunity to explore the granular realities of embedding sustainability into business operations. Sustainability LIVE strives to surface the pragmatic strategies and lived experiences of executives grappling with ESG implementation in a world marked by economic instability, regulatory shifts and fast-moving technologies such as AI.
“Unsustainable business is no longer sustainable,” he said.
Key themes of the event included industrial decarbonisation, circular economy principles, sustainable supply chains, and the broader impacts of global risks. These conversations, Glen noted, are more relevant than ever in light of macroeconomic uncertainty, geopolitical tension and technological disruption. He also highlighted the strategic importance of North America, noting that when the US experiences change, it often triggers a global ripple effects – underscoring the region’s influence and the need for meaningful sustainability discussions.
As the company behind Sustainability Magazine, Procurement Magazine and Supply Chain Digital, BizClik has grown from a media publishing house into a global events organiser, spurred by the demand for virtual events during the pandemic.
“This is not about doing sustainability for the sake of being seen to do sustainability. Sustainability is all about an embedded culture within the business,” Glen said.
What began as a response to market needs has evolved into a dynamic live events platform, with Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE and Sustainability LIVE launched in 2021 and 2022 respectfully – now held globally.
“When the US sneezes, the world catches a cold,” he said.
He closed by inviting feedback from attendees, underscoring that these events are designed for them – to deliver real value, practical insights and genuine dialogue. Glen emphasised the importance of moving beyond event fatigue and into meaningful, solutionsfocused exchange.
“It’s extremely important that you guys enjoy and give us the feedback,” he shared. “We do this for you.”
