HITACHI ENERGY
Hitachi power grid we had already achieved a 75 % reduction, marking significant progress toward our goal.
One major decision made by the company is to switch to non-fossil fuel sources for nearly 100 % of its electricity, wherever possible. Other significant measures include switching to biofuels when sustainable biofuels are available and the deployment of heat pumps for building heating applications.
While the above measures are for our own operations, we are innovating with our technology and solutions designed specifically to overcome the challenges of integrating renewable energy into power grids.
Regarding circularity in manufacturing, we have a target to achieve zero wasteto-landfill at all our sites by 2030. In transformer manufacturing, 33 out of 55 sites have already achieved this. Hitachi Energy aims to eliminate single-use plastics and focus on water efficiency and conservation measures.
