TOP 1 %

of 25,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis
HOW DOES HITACHI ENERGY MEASURE AND COMMUNICATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT OF ITS TRANSFORMERS TO STAKEHOLDERS AND WHAT ROLE DO LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS PLAY IN THIS PROCESS? Namita – Our stakeholders receive an objective, third-party indication of the environmental and social impacts of our business through third-party ratings of our sustainability performance, which are available on our website. This includes well-known organisations like EcoVadis and CDP, which evaluate parameters across the business value stream. Hitachi Energy’ s sustainability performance for the 12 months up to March 2025 has been recognised with a Platinum award by EcoVadis, placing us in the top 1 % of the 25,000 companies worldwide assessed by EcoVadis.
Consolidating our sustainability journey and aspirations is our annual sustainability report available on our website, which includes externally audited assurance statements for key parameters like carbon emissions. We also actively participate in relevant national-level programmes for enhancing sustainability across our operations.
Life-cycle assessments play a key role in communicating environmental impacts, such as the product carbon footprint of our transformers, to our customers. In some instances, these assessments are presented in the form of Environmental Product Declarations( EPD) that are available in the public domain on the websites of EPD operators. sustainabilitymag. com 115
