The business case for sustainability objectives under the National Environmental Policy Act. She then spent more than a year in India as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Tata Energy Research Institute, building partnerships between the US and India to support clean energy and address climate change.
Katie was the first woman to be appointed as the Secretary of Pennsylvania’ s Department of Environmental Protection in 2003 where she served for more than five years. She is credited with attracting thousands of renewable energy jobs and a billion to new investment in the state during her time in this role. She was also Chair of the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority from 2004.

I felt privileged to use the convening power of my office to bring leaders in business, labour, environmental groups, elected officials, academia and engaged citizens together to co-create and own initiatives that strengthened our environment and our economy. I’ ve learned that through partnerships, and a good attitude – anything is possible.”
In 2009, Katie became a Board Member at Iberdrola and Director and Chair of its USA Audit Committee. A year later, she joined NRG Energy as Chair of the Nuclear Oversight Subcommittee and a member of the Finance Committee. She also took on the role of Senior Vice President and
