but also in tracking progress and linking actions with data. If you’ re a consumer goods company, once you’ ve started to measure your carbon emissions properly at the corporate level you can start measuring at product level too.

“ At the companies who really derive value from sustainability, teams work together to make every sustainability effort a company effort”

COULD YOU GIVE SOME EXAMPLES OF CO2 AI’ S RESULTS? Pretty much all of us have Reckitt products at home. They make Vanish, Finish, Dettol, Lysol and so many home and personal care products. Reckitt has a huge portfolio of very complex products with a lot of ingredients. These ingredients, particularly chemicals, are important to decarbonise but hard to quantify and compute.
With the Reckitt team, we’ ve been using our AI technology to automate measurement of their carbon footprint. They have moved from a footprint based on averages to detailed, granular, accurate emissions data. Around 25,000 Reckitt products are now automatically measured with CO2 AI and they are able to refresh that data at the press of a button.
They are now embarking on a journey with the full organisation to reveal this data with CO2 AI so that teams like R & D and procurement can act on the right levels that data reveals.
It would have been absolutely impossible to do this for Reckitt without AI given the complexity of their footprint and ingredients. Our appropriate generative AI approach boosts efficiency through automation, but also increases the quality of their footprint data in an unmatchable way for humans.
